Bloomsburg Baseball Drops Doubleheader To Pace

BLOOMSBURG- The Bloomsburg University baseball team dropped a doubleheader to Pace University on Saturday afternoon, losing game one 8-0 and falling in game two, 7-4.
In game one, Pace's David Qualbon tossed a two-hit shutout with eight strikeouts. Kevin Ward (Upper Darby (Monsignor Bonner) went 1-2 with a single and a walk while Jeremy Eck (Williamsport/Montoursville) added the only other hit for the Huskies with a single in the second inning.
Bloomsburg combined for seven errors as starting pitcher Dave Rute (Milton/Milton) went six and 2/3 innings giving up 10 hits and just two earned runs.
Pace's Adam Harwood went three for four with two RBI while Mar Arburr added two more RBI for the Setters.
In game two, the Setters used seven pitchers to defeat the Huskies 7-4. Matt Arburr led Pace going 2-4 with two RBI. Doug Wenz was the pitcher of record getting the win while Earl Oakes picked up his fifth save of the season.
For Bloomsburg, Ward doubled in two runs, while Andy Bucher (Littlestown/Littlestown) and Eck added an RBI apiece.
The Huskies (3-17) will travel to Columbia Union for a doubleheader tomorrow night at 6:00 p.m.
